General Information of the ASI

The Astronomical Society of Iran (ASI) is a non-beneficiary institute that is established to increase and expand astronomy services including improving the quality of education, developing researches, attracting cooperation and making more coordination among scientific and technical centers of the country.
The association solely works in scientific, technical, research and specialty fields.


Membership in the ASI

Membership in the Astronomical Society of Iran is of four kinds:

  1. Associated membership: This covers the professionals and specialists in astronomy fields and disciplines (master’s degrees and higher).
  2. Attached membership: This includes students and amateur astronomers who have done valuable works and are interested in the activities of the Association and participate in the scientific activities of Association.
  3. Honor membership: This covers those individuals who have made effective and valuable contributions in the progresses of goals and objectives of the Association.
  4. Membership of institutes: This includes organizations and associations that are interested in the progress of association's goals.

Fundamentals of the ASI

The fundamentals of the Astronomical Society of Iran are: General meeting, board of directors, inspector(s), specialized committees and secretariat.
